Meet Shelby
Shelby graduated with her Masters Degree in Social Work with an emphasis in mental health from The University of Utah. Shelby has received advanced training in Maternal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International. She has taught parenting classes, worked with moms impacted by domestic violence, and has witnessed the complex challenges and joys that motherhood can bring. Shelby utilizes DBT, mindfulness, and self compassion to empower and help mothers reconnect with their innate goodness.
“Motherhood is one the most difficult and rewarding relationships we’ll ever take part in, add the societal pressures to do it all perfectly with a smile on your face and it’s no wonder moms are overwhelmed. I think as a whole we’re doing a disservice to mothers by under-supporting and over-burdening them. It’s my hope that as your therapist we can work together to identify what’s no longer serving you and challenge it; leaving space for you to create a version of your life that is authentic and empowering to you. You don’t have to do this alone. There is hope. You will be well again.”
